Angelic Upstarts - 2,000,000 Voices & Angelic Upstarts Live (1981)

The Angelic Upstarts are a punk and skinhead band formed in South Shields, North-East England in 1977.
Influenced by bands such as The Clash and The Sex Pistols, they were a meeting of working class ideology and musical aspiration. Mensi was always liable to provoke reaction, his lyrics making much of his working class roots and lashing out at police and politicians.
The original lineup was Thomas Mensforth (aka Mensi) on vocals, Ray Cowie (aka Mond) on guitar, Steve Forsten on bass and Decca Wade on drums.
The band has reformed and split a few times.

"2,000,000 Voices" was released in June 1981 on Zonophone/EMI.
Re-released on Captain Oi! in 2001 with 5 bonus tracks (15-19).
